In hindsight, 2020 sucked.
But 2021 is a new year and the availability of vaccinations (for those who will avail themselves of the vaccinations) gives us hope that we’ll get to leave the bunker.
Just before Christmas, we added a new member to the family, adopting 8 week old Aussiedoodle Linus. We had been holding off on getting a dog because of the traveling we wanted to do, but figured with the Covid travel restrictions, there wasn’t going to be a better time. If you like cute puppy pics, Linus has his own Instagram page.
With everyone in our bubble having gotten at least the first vaccination shot, in early April we snuck out to California to visit the boat for the first time in five months. We’re so far behind posting pictures, but here are a few of the highlights from that trip. It was, of course, Linus’ first trip to California and his first exposure to the beach. He did great, even on the two-days-each-way car rides.
After just a quick 10 days of boat maintenance, we had to drive back to OK so I could fly to Utah for a backpacking trip with Andrew Skurka Adventures. Pictures have been posted on Instagram, but I still need to post them here.
The rest of April was consumed by preparing for Kendra and Robert’s wedding on May 1.
Towards the end of May, we traveled to New Waverly, Texas to watch my niece Lauren graduate high school and visit with my sister Kristin and her other kids.
June is still a question mark. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to go back out to California again.
